Local passode reset for macOS

If your end user forgot their Mac's password, you will need to use the FileVault recovery key to allow both decryption on the endpoint and reset of the local passcode.

From the Operate / IT Fleet view, click on the targeted Mac and in the pop-in look in the Secrets tab to display the FileVault recovery key and give it to the end user.

The end user will type multiple wrong passcode and will then be requested by macOS to enter the recovery key. Once entered, this recovery key will allow the user to reset its own passcode locally.

You do not need a physical access to the device to follow that process, you just need an end-user willing to comply with the process.
